Whatever the various legal determinations, DeLorean's reputation seems irrevocably tarnished, and the man who once confided to associates, "I am not capable of addressing failure," is going to have to learn how.

"Here is another view of the trunk in shambles. Notice all the mud and leaves around the gas cap. Talk about fuel tank contamination if that stuff falls down there while filling up next time."

The fact that early production cars had various deficiencies was not the fault of the work force. As much as anything, that can be attributed to poor design work, inadequate environmental testing, and the simple fact that both plant and car were brand-new.

"Notice the red goop on the dash. Yeah, that is the vin plate that was ripped off by the thief. If looked at closely enough, you can still see some of the numbers of the vin embedded into the vinyl dash."

One minute after I (John DeLorean) was arrested at the hotel, the agent turned on the car radio, and there was the head of the F.B.I. conducting a press conference on my arrest. It just shows what the whole thing was about. It was a carefully orchestrated publicity ploy.

"Once again, notice the red spot. The thief completed the job of removing all identification on this car. What was this guy thinking? The DeLorean is probably the least conspicuous car to steal. No removal of vin numbers will hide his wrongdoing."

Lotus has done an excellent job "detailing" the DMC. It's so changed from the original drawings that much of the chassis is totally new, as are some of the vendor-supplied components, like shocks and disc brakes.

"I hope these parts are not there for restoration purposes, this car is beyond repair! :("

His family was all John had left. The money is gone, the power and the prestige. He's got nothing, while Cristina's got everything going for her. Ever since he was arrested, people have been telling her, "You're young, you're beautiful, you've got your whole life in front of you. What do you need him for?"
