The "DeLorean Motor Company Prospectus" is an important part of the DeLorean Motor Company's history. Mr. DeLorean needed a monetary good faith investment from the dealer network he was setting up throughout the states. This prospectus outlines the $25,000.00 buy in by a dealership if they wanted to participate in selling the car and investing in the company. DeLorean generated around seven to eight million dollars from dealerships.

The JZD Corporation was a stepping stone towards the development of his safety sports car.

This Mailgram from December of 1981 is from John DeLorean to Jim Jones, who had just been promoted to Automotive Editor of Newsweek. DeLorean always liked to be friendly with reporters, since him and his company's public image were very important to his success. Notice the pad of paper with the Legend Industries Logo and John's doodles of Fred Dellis's name. Take a look at the articles section for a Newsweek article that Jim Jones wrote after Mr. DeLorean's arrest on drug charges.

Included in these DMC Business cards is John DeLorean's personal card at the time the company was up and running. This is a very rare card, and is in mint condition. Each card is of very high quality paper and has the DMC emblem embossed on the front. The other two cards represent: Pam Wilcox, Transportation Claims Supervisor, and James T. Miller, President of DeLorean Motor Company.

The DeLorean did not come with many cosmetic options. This accessory sheet gave buyers the ability to make their DeLorean a little more unique by adding such options as a thick or thin DMC Accent Sidestripe to the car. Other accessories included a luggage rack, ski adapter, car cover, and plush floor mats.

DMC Pen and Pencil

Here is the first time plans for a DMC pen and pencil are shown. This is a hand sketched drawing of a custom designed pen and pencil by Mr. DeLorean. Plans were to make customized accessories for the DeLorean such as pens, lighters, watches, etc. Little did I know how involved John was in designing these items. His engineering skills can be seen in these sketches for both the DMC Pen and Pencil. Very interesting stuff.

DMC Memo (Good News!)
DMC Memo

This important memo is undated as of now, but must have been during the tumultuous time of the company in mid 1982. It is an important piece of the DMC history since it shows John's enthusiasm and belief that things would get better with the company. This memo appears to have gone out to all branches of the company including every dealership.
