Autocar (June 1981)
Although DMC steered away from the ERM chassis, the car is still constructed of synthetic material to a large degree, in this case Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), which is used to form the entire sub-body, including various reinforced areas such as the rollover bar and crush zones, and then mated to the stainless steel body panels.

Performance Car (Jan. 1984)
The reason for DMC's ultimate collapse is all to easy to pinpoint – John DeLorean's wildly optimistic sales forecasts dependent on just one market. Instead of settling for a smaller factory with a production rate of around 10,000 cars per year, he built himself an empire which was geared to produce 30,000 gull-wing sports cars a year. John Z. was trying to run before he could walk.

"It seems like you can't have a car show these days without some sort of accident occurring. Here is a shot of a hotel room that was assaulted by an out of control DeLorean. Press here for a close up shot of the damage to the hotel room. Download the video clip for a short video of the carnage."
Autocar and Motor (March 1990)
Long before the death throes of the company, rumors had circulated in the press and government circles of DeLorean's cavalier handling of other people's money. He was paying himself an annual salary of £250,000 – more than the president of GM, the world's largest car manufacturer – and lavishing British money on plush New York offices.
